Hi 3FH,

Today we talked about how different voice qualities of speakers can give you an idea about what kind of personality, mood, background and motivation of the speakers.

Auditory clues in an audio text can be separated into two types - speech and non-speech. For speech, we analyse the voice qualities to know more about what is happening. For non-speech, we listen out for background sound and effects.
